What happened soon after the 90s
After graduating in Foreign Languages and Literatures in Italy , I moved to the UK where I stayed for over 7 years. Here I worked for the Italian Consulate in London and for several English Colleges in the West Sussex, teaching mainly Italian classes and some English classes too; While there, I passed the CPE (Cambridge Proficiency of English), I got the TESOL certificate for teaching English as a second language and completed an MA in Applied Linguistics at Sussex University UK.
What happened soon after 2000
Three things more or less at once: I moved back to Italy, I got married to Otello and I opened my little baby company called Training Solutions.
Training Solutions: a sole business which deals with English language training in Italy as well
as abroad and ICT training programmes. Thanks to my strong passion for
travelling, for international relations, the sympathy for foreign cultures
and the keen interest for different educational systems, together with a
valuable staff I have been working with, the consulting service for training
programmes offered abroad has really taken off.
In addition to this, I have been teaching English at university for a significant number of years:
- from 2001 to undergraduate law students (University of Bari)
- from 2012 to undergraduate Cultural Heritage students (University of Basilicata).
2013: teacher training year!
Last but not least I have started to develop an insight into CLIL methodology holding few sessions for a group of secondary school teachers for a training project run by the University of Foggia.I will also shortly start teaching English language as well as methodology to a group of primary school teachers.
It looks like there will be a wealth of opportunities to explore more and more the benefits offered by this new revolutionary approach: so let's clil!
